octopaul.jpgI signed up for a pet toy exchange, and I made Octopaul!!!  Wanna know how? Well, I’ll tell you:

Materials:

g hook

ww yarn ( i used red heart )

Start: 6 sc in ring

rd1: 2 sc in each sc around (12 sc)

rd2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next around (18 sc)

rd3: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc around (24 sc)

rd4-7: sc in each sc around

rd8: dec 1 sc, sc in next 2 sc around (18 sc)

rd9: dec 1 sc, sc in next sc around (12 sc)

rd10: dec 1 sc around (6 sc )

now for our favorite! : fold and sc across both thicknesses- 3 sc

chain 31, skip 1st ch, sc in next, 2-3 sc in every few chains (it’s up to you, the more sc’s you cram in each chain is the more ‘curly’ the leg gets), sc in next sc, repeat this process till you have 8 legs.

Note: on this one, stuff him before you close him up, and I had to just sc where ever I found a spot to fit all 8 legs.  He does not require perfection!!!!!  And glue google eyes on him.  Or embroider eyes. However you wanna do it!

I love that this pattern doesn’t require joining parts together. The tentacles were the most fun to make, although my attempt ended up with severely curly tentacles!

Here’s what mine look like: http://www.suezanntoh.com/posts/amigurumi/153
