Sorry, my head hurts and i can’t think of a title for  this post!!

I finished some projects this week, the first being an elephant from a noah’s ark crochet book:

Next i made a pear:

The free pattern for this is at www.amigurumigirl.blogspot.com

And i ordered a German ami book ( http://www.amazon.de/100-kleine-H%C3%A4kelfiguren-vielen-Anwendungsideen/dp/3772465730)  and made the snake:

I followed the directions fine, so what’s wrong with it?  Well, my color choice!  You know when you take that test at the doctors for like ulcers or whatever and they have you drink that nasty barium stuff?  Well, this snake is what your poo looks like!!!  Gross!!!

Here are my kitties while i’m trying to crochet:

029-3.jpg picture by gnathalie2  That is Sunshine in my lap while i’m trying to read the german patterns!!

And how about some cool stuff other people made?!!!

   A turtle from mccrowthers!!

Want another one?!

  This one is so tiny!!!

Keep up the great work everyone!!!

Kitty beds! May 25, 2008

Adrian is so addicted to the computer that anytime it’s not his turn, he throws a big ole’ baby hissy fit.  Not cool.  So, to keep him from driving me crazy while it was Madaleine’s turn, we made a couple kitty beds with the sewing machine!  His favorite part was ‘driving’ the machine while i fed the fabric through.

This is the first one we made, and it’s specifically for Alex and Milkshake:

  Milkshake LOVES it!

And if you’re wondering why the kitties tails are usually wet in the pics, it’s cause they keep stepping/sitting in poop after they go and i have to keep rinsing them off!!  Barf!!

 I know! Awwww!!

Then i remembered that i had some fishy fabric from a while ago, and Adrian thought it would be perfect for a giant bed for the baby kittens!

Can you see where the kids ‘tried’ to help me paint when we first moved in the house?!!  Under the desk in Adrian’s room is where the kittens live.

Tasha was also playing with my camera today, her favorite thing to do is take loooooong movies of her walking around the house talking.  And taking bad ‘surprise’ pictures of me.  Here is a ‘booby’ shot when i handed her one of the kittens:

I’m also almost done with a crocheted elephant, so i’ll post that a bit later~ i.e. when i’m done!

Here is the elephant!

Madaliene took a photo series of Hostile Bunni checking out the baby kittens.  He swears he won’t be defeated again, so he’s gotta see what he’s up against!

Finishing:

1.  Using yarn needle, sew roof spots wherever you like on the roof.  Sew the door on the front of the house and the windows on each side of the door.  I used a small roof spot for the doorknob, and i used purple yarn to sew an ‘x’ onto the windows.

2. Stuff bottom and top, then sew the two together.

3.  The yarn i used for the bottom (bernat) is a bit thicker than the red heart soft, so try to use a yarn like regular red heart or something for the bottom part.  The rest was made with red heart soft.

Enjoy!

What’s one more, really! May 21, 2008

So i’m just sitting in the living room watching tv and in runs Tasha with a kitten.  And it’s not orange.  And she hands it to me and lets me know that there are more over at the red house.  I’m a sucker for little kittens, so of course i went up the street to see them.  Poor little babies are ‘outdoor’ cats, with a pile of half chewed up fish sticks to eat.  There were 5 altogether, and there was one black and white one that was just so scared of people he was hissing and scratching at our hands!  I reached in behind the box and then had Madaleine grab him as he backed away from me~ after like 10 minutes he calmed down though.

Madaleine saw Luis’s car pull into our driveway so we thought it would be hilarious to take all 5 kittens home and pretend that we were keeping them~ Luis totally thought we were serious and was all ‘oh my god, no way!’!!!!

After playing with them for a bit and enjoying non-orange kitties we started bringing them back.  And then Tasha started.

1. Poor kitten, we have to feed it first.

2. wait mama, he’s thirsty

3. he likes our living room

4. he likes our house

5. But i’m gonna miss him ( insert pouty face)

6. he’s my baby kitty (insert first stages of crying)

7. baby kitty, baby kitty, baby kitty (insert crocodile tears, blubbering, and ‘death grip’ on kitten)

And then Luis comes downstairs and goes ‘i knew it.  the second you came in here with those.’  And i’m all ‘whatever’.  But really, the poor kitty has little eye infection that i’ve already cleaned off and put leftover eye drops in.  I gotta take him to the vet today.

The condition for keeping the kitten?  Not only do i have to find homes for the babies here (already have!), but i have to find homes for at least 2 of the previous kitties.  Actually, Luis already has, it’s the same girl that has the other orange one.

Our brand new kittens name?

Alex!  Tasha thought long and hard and came downstairs with Adrian to announce his new name

 He can haz cheezeburgers!!!

Here he is sleeping next to Balto:

kindof a crappy pic, but you can see the eye crust on his eyes!  yuck!

And here he is fitting in with the other cats:

As for amigurumi, Madaleine drew a picture of a mushroom house and i did my best to make her one:

I’ll post the pattern  a bit later

So far today…. May 8, 2008

So far today i have

1.  done a load of dished

2.  done 2 loads of laundry

3. took a shower and shaved my legs!!!

4.  finished up the cat toys for the swap i’m in

5.  made a shark for Adrian

6.  vaccumed the living room!

For me that’s alot done considering it’s only 2pm and i woke up at 7am.  So, here is the last cat toy i made:

It’s lumpy and shaped funny cause instead of fiberfill i sewed a little ‘thing’ filled with catnip and stuck it in the bird.  The free pattern is here: http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/birds.html

This was my favorite project today~ i started it last night and really did the bulk of it just now:

Shaaaaaaark!!!!  Also we could do the ‘jaws’ theme!  I had bought Adrian a new set of bed sheets with sharks all over it, and when i found this pattern on ravelry i just had to make it!!

Here we have the shark posing on the shark sheets.  He feels like he’s home so i’ll just leave him there for now.

Free pattern is here: http://www.ullrykka.de/iblog/B567792918/C947144548/E20070508153639/index.html

(right under the pic is the link to the english pattern)

And who knew that cats liked corn?!?

Sunshine sure does!!  Notice that she’s totally skipped over the mac & cheese that all the other cats would eat first (and did!)  And on a gross note: cats have the same ‘result’ from eating corn as people do.  YUCK!!!!

Later!

They can kinda see May 7, 2008

Way cute~ the baby kittens kinda have their eyes open!  Tasha came running downstairs freaking out cause the kittens ‘were crawling away from their mama’, and when i went upstairs to look the little cuties were just exploring their space!  The kids are a bit nervous with these kittens cause Sandy had two babies a few days ago and she just didn’t know how to take care of them.  She would lick them and check on them but wouldn’t lay down for more than a couple minutes to feed them.  I brought them upstairs and gave them to Snowball, and she fed them like they were hers, but they were just too small to compete with the bigger kittens.  It was so sad too cause after i buried them outside, Sandy and Snowball spent a good few hours sniffing around the house and outside looking for their babies.  We’re still pretty sad about it, especially Adrian.  He spent the entire day making sure the babies got their turn.

Here is Sandy right after she had the first kitty:

I keep telling Adrian that the babies are in heaven and they know how much he loved them and took care of them

Alright, now on to the kitties:

Tasha is holding one of the girls

And here they are trying to see what’s out there:

This one reminds me of Robin Hood, that scene were the little bunny falls out the wagon and says ‘wait for me! wait for me!’ !!!

And here they are ‘crawling away from their mama’:

  Awwwww!!!

I found this online, hodge podge of crafts made my flower scarf and it’s BEAUTIFUL!!!  I love pink!!!

And over at crochetville, Pear-Kitten made my big spotted bird~ and i have to say it’s one of the quickest ‘returns’ on a pattern i’ve posted!!!  Awesome job!!!!!  I LOVE those red google eyes!!!!!

As far as cool stuff i’ve found online, this one is so freaking cute!  It’s penguin pillows!
